Privacy, plainly.

What we collect

If you subscribe to Le Bulletin (through a sign-up form, the free guide, a quiz or a vote), we collect your email address, the page and form you signed up from, and, if you took a quiz, which quiz and your result. If you answer the optional questions after a quiz, those answers are saved with your subscription.

If you vote in an article, we count the vote. The count is anonymous: no name, email or IP address is stored with it. To stop one person voting many times, a scrambled, one-way fingerprint of the visit is kept until the end of the day and then discarded.

If you ask a question on Ask My French Husband, we save the text of the question, so we know what to write about next. It is not linked to your name or email. Please do not put personal details in a question.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see, in aggregate, which pages are read and which buttons are used (pages visited, country, device type). We do not use it to identify you. This site carries no advertising trackers, and your browser remembers on your own device that you have signed up or voted, so we do not ask twice.

Your choice on analytics. If you visit from the EU, the UK, Switzerland, Norway or Iceland, Google Analytics stays off until you say yes in the small banner at the bottom of the page. Your browser keeps your answer. Change my choice.

What your browser remembers. To suggest the next quiz or article, your browser keeps a few notes on your own device: the topics you read most, the side you picked in a quiz, your passport stamps, and whether you have signed up. The topic you read most is also sent to Google Analytics, without your name. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes all of it.

If you comment on our Instagram posts, we read those comments through Instagram’s official tools: your username, the text and the date. We use them to see what readers ask for and how they feel about a post, and to draft replies that we read and approve before anything is posted. We keep them for up to 120 days, then delete them. We never message you because you commented.

Who processes it

Le Bulletin is delivered through Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.), which stores subscriber details on our behalf under its own privacy terms. Site measurement is provided by Google Analytics (Google LLC). Answers on Ask My French Husband are written by an AI model from Anthropic: your question, and nothing else about you, is sent to it to produce the answer. Sorting Instagram comments (positive, negative or useful), summing them up and drafting replies use the same AI: the comment text and the post caption are sent, nothing else. We don't sell your data, and we don't share your email with anyone else — not partners, not brands, not even very persuasive ones.

Your rights

Every email includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately, no questions, though he will pretend not to mind. Under GDPR (our French readers) and applicable US law, you may also request access to or deletion of your data at any time: info@myfrenchhusband.com. We'll handle it within 30 days, usually much faster.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. The children who appear on this site editorially are ours, on our terms: first names only, faces never.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll note it in Le Bulletin. Last updated: October 22, 2026.
